02

Measure and Melt the Wax

Each standard PC round tealight cup requires approximately 15g of wax.
Melt the appropriate amount of wax based on the number of tealight candles you plan to make.

To compare the characteristics of each finished candle by wax type, we made samples using different waxes:
1. Gel Wax MP (For Containers)
2. Ecosoya CB-Advanced Wax
3. Snowflake Crystal Palm Wax
4. CW Coconut Blend Wax (for Container)

03

Add Color

Select a color block (or dye) in your desired shade and add it to the melted wax.
Blend until the wax reaches your preferred color.

CW Color Blocks are solid dyes that produce no powder residue, making them easy to cut with a knife or scissors.
They don’t easily stain your hands, offering a safe and convenient option for beginners and children alike.
Compared to liquid dyes, CW Color Blocks offer more precise color control.
You can achieve soft pastel tones or bold, vivid hues depending on the amount used.
Use a small amount for subtle color, or add more for richer, more vibrant results.

04

Add Fragrance Oil

Each type of wax has an optimal temperature range for adding fragrance oil to minimize scent loss.
Recommended fragrance load percentages may also vary to prevent issues such as poor burn performance or soot (smoking).

Add the fragrance oil at the appropriate temperature and load rate for each wax type,
and stir thoroughly to ensure the wax and oil are well blended.

* The tealight shown in the photo was made with 15g of soy wax and approximately 1.5g of black cherry fragrance oil, following a 10% fragrance load.

** Gel wax is transparent and nearly non-polar, which means using polar fragrance oils may result in a cloudy appearance.
Please refer to the gel wax product page for a list of compatible fragrance oils.

05

Pour Into Tealight Cups

Each wax type has unique properties that affect setting time, surface finish,
and burning behavior so the optimal pouring temperature varies accordingly.
Slowly pour the melted wax into pre-prepared tealight cups at the recommended pouring temperature for each wax to ensure the best results.

Pouring Temperature Q&A

Q) What happens if I don’t pour at the recommended temperature?
A)1. 1. Cracking

Some waxes may contract rapidly as they cool, leading to surface cracks.

2. Air Bubbles

Pouring at too high a temperature can introduce air bubbles in certain wax types.

3. Poor Adhesion or Uneven Surface

Depending on the wax, insufficient adhesion to the container may cause the wax to pull away from the sides,
or result in an uneven surface texture.

06

Insert the Wick

Insert the wick when the edges of the tealight cup surface begin to set with a translucent finish.

* When making tealight candles with gel wax using coated wicks, it’s best to insert the wick after the wax temperature has sufficiently cooled.

Finishing Touches

Once the wax has fully solidified, you can observe the surface characteristics that vary depending on the type of wax.

1. EcoSoya Soy Wax CB
- Low soot and long burn time
- Natural wax
- Smooth and clean surface
- Naturally soft, subtle color

2. Clear Gel Wax MP
- Translucent gel-type wax
- Relatively fast setting time
- Transparent appearance with excellent visual effect
- Creates a cool, refreshing ambiance

3. Snowflake Crystal Palm Wax
- High melting point, requires high-temperature handling
- Hard texture; can be softened when blended with natural wax
- Sparkling surface resembling snowflake crystals

4. CW Coconut Blend
- Blend of coconut & paraffin wax
- Less frosting than 100% natural wax; maintains clean colors when mixed with dye
- Vibrant colors
- Smooth surface
