Myrrh
Balsamic, Spicy, Amber, Mushroom
Myrrh, along with frankincense, is one of the oldest fragrant materials used in perfumes and religious ceremonies.
Myrrh is mentioned in Egyptian papyrus documents dating back to 2000 B.C.
It also appears several times in the Bible, most notably when
the Wise Men presented gifts of frankincense, myrrh, and gold to the baby Jesus.
Myrrh natural oil starts with a balsamic and fragrant scent with a slightly spicy, rosemary, lemon-like top note.
It has a delicate, aromatic, and warm woody resin scent.
Resin oils (such as frankincense, opoponax, and myrrh) deepen in scent over time, much like aged wine.
The characteristics of CW Myrrh Natural Essential Oil
The myrrh tree (Commiphora Myrrha) grows in the arid climate of the desert and is primarily native to Somalia. When the tree is wounded or the trunk is cut, resin oozes out. After two weeks, the hardened resin is collected and steam distilled to obtain myrrh essential oil.
