Vanilla is a specialty of the Madagascar region. The dried vanilla pods are transported to France, where the soft and rich vanilla absolute is produced through solvent extraction from the seeds inside the vanilla pods. Natural vanilla is very warm and rich, with a slightly bitter woody base note. Vanilla absolute serves as an excellent fixative for amber and oriental natural perfumes.
