| Characteristics | - This product is a perfume base for spray application. - Emulsification is essential when creating water perfumes. Please be sure to follow the prescribed order of creation. - This product is water-based, which means that when formulated with the right solubilizers and the right percentage of fragrance oils, you can create a water fragrance without separation. - We recommend using only fragrance oils for flavoring. - It is alcohol-free and recommended to be used up to 12 months after making. - If the color of the fragrance oil is too dark, it may stain light-colored clothing. - The perfume base contains various auxiliary ingredients to block light, and over time, these may react with the fragrance, causing minor precipitates to form. White Water Base
allowing you to experience the pure scent of the fragrance.
The water-based fragrance formulation is designed to allow those sensitive to alcohol scents to enjoy perfumes.
It has been tested for skin irritation and received a 'low irritation' rating.
Using allergen-free fragrance oils can further reduce irritation, resulting in a milder perfume.
Composed of water-based ingredients, this allows for the creation of stable water perfumes with no separation
when using suitable solubilizers and appropriate fragrance concentrations for fragrance oils.
Point 1. Product Features
The water-based fragrance base is meticulously formulated to protect fragrances sensitive to light and oxidation. It includes both UV stabilizers and antioxidants to ensure full protection.
Additionally, since it is water-based, it incorporates skin-safe microbial inhibitors to prevent microbial growth,
which are cosmetic-grade ingredients and not typical preservatives.
Compared to alcohol-based fragrance bases, this product offers the advantage of being free from alcohol scent,
eliminating the need to wait for alcohol to evaporate. This allows you to enjoy the pure, unaltered scent of the fragrance.
Point 2. Types of Water-Based
Clear Water Base is a clear liquid that can be used for perfume concepts that express the feeling of pure, clean water.
Point 3. Skin Sensitivity Testing
The water base has been hypoallergenic tested by the OATC Skin Clinical Testing Center, with an irritation index of 0.03.* While eau de parfum is typically formulated with a 10-15% fragrance load,
When using an alcohol-free water perfume base, adjust the maximum fragrance load to 5% or less.
** Please refer to the IFRA dossier as the mixing ratio may vary depending on the characteristics of the fragrance, such as its power and viscosity.
Point 4. Emulsification Process and Production Sequence
Water perfume bases are composed of water-based ingredients, which means that when you add oil-based fragrance oils to them It must be emulsified before it can be added to the fragrance.
To make 50 ml of fragrance, mix 45 grams of fragrance base, 2.5 grams of fragrance oil, and 2.5 grams of liquid solubilizer.
The fragrance oil and liquid solubilizer are emulsified in a 1:1 ratio.
If you use the right naturally derived emulsifiers for your fragrance oils and the right percentage of fragrance, you can create a water perfume that doesn't separate.
However, if the emulsification process is not perfect, the fragrance may separate.
In this case, you can increase the amount of liquid solubilizer or try using a different type of solubilizer.
Because each fragrance oil has different characteristics, we recommend testing small batches before mass production.
* After CW launched the first fabric mist in Korea in July 2015,
we introduced how to make fabric deodorant using liquid solubilizer to prevent oil layer separation.
** For working with oil paint, see "How to Make Water Perfume" below.
Point 5. Capacity Options
Water fragrance bases are available in 100ml, 500ml, 1L, and 5L capacities.
Point 6. Simple with Opener
If you're using a 5L bottle, you can use a commercially available universal opener, bottle opener, etc. to make opening and using them easier than opening them by hand.
Point 7. Tips for Using Refills
Q1. Added fragrance oil to the water base and it clouded up.
Q2. Bubbles are visible in the water base.
naturally derived emulsifiers to help the water-oil (water base - fragrance oil) interface water-oil (water base - fragrance oil) interface.
These naturally derived emulsifiers are the least irritating types of emulsifiers used in perfumes
and cosmetics and have been tested for skin sensitivity by certified organizations.
Q3. Can natural essential oils be blended in?
Natural essential oils may not be soluble due to their natural nature,so when creating fragrances using a water base, we recommend using only fragrance oils for flavoring.
Q4. Are there any exceptions that vary over time since the perfume was created?
If the emulsification process is not complete, the following can happen.
- Using a Clear Water Perfume Base but it changes to cloudy over time
- Used a white water perfume base, but it changed to clear over time
(When building a white water base, some oils may turn clear immediately after building)
- Creates an oil layer the color of the fragrance oil
- Creates small water droplets in the perfume bottle glass
If this is the case, you may need to adjust the amount of liquid solubilizer or create with a different solubilizer.
Also, because each fragrance oil used with a water base has different properties, we recommend testing small batches before mass production.
Q5. Will water-based fragrance longevity be the same as alcohol-based?
Water and alcohol perfume bases have different properties, which can result in different fragrance longevity.
Alcohol perfume bases have a high concentration and evaporation rate,
so they tend to have a strong initial scent that fades over time.
Water bases, on the other hand, are based on water and evaporate more slowly than alcohol,
so the initial scent is relatively mild and the fragrance can last longer.
However, because water bases are alcohol-free, they are recommended to be used within a maximum of 12 months of creation.

make 1. Measure Fragrance Oils
Using a 50 ml glass beaker, measure out 2.5 grams of fragrance oil.If using an alcohol-free water base, make it with a maximum fragrance load of 5%.
make 2. Weighing Liquid Solubilizers
Place a 50 ml glass beaker of fragrance oil on the scale, zero it, and measure out 2.5 g of liquid solubilizer. (Based on making a 50 ml perfume.)Fragrance oils (1): liquid solubilizers (1)
make 3. Emulsification Process
Mix the fragrance oil and liquid solubilizer with a glass wand for at least 1 minute to ensure they are well combined.
make 4. Weighing the Water Base
Measure 45 g of water base into a new 100 ml glass beaker (based on making a 50 ml perfume, minus 2.5 g of fragrance oil and 2.5 g of liquid solubilizer)
make 5. Mixing Flavoring Into a Water Base
In a 100 ml glass beaker with a water base, add half of the fragrance oil and liquid solubilizer that you mixed in a 50 ml glass beaker earlier and mix thoroughly, then add the other half.
