Vetiver Oil Java M.D

Woody, Ambery, Smoky, Earthy

Vetiver Java M.D. is a natural essential oil from Indonesia, widely used as a base note and fixative in perfumery.

It offers a rich and complex woody-earthy aroma, complemented by fresh green nuances, subtle spicy undertones, and a refreshing grapefruit-like facet.

M.D. (Molecular Distillation) refers to a refined distillation process that helps soften the intense smokiness and heavy earthy character typically associated with traditional Java vetiver oil, resulting in a smoother, cleaner, and more versatile woody profile.

With the ongoing supply shortages and significant price increases of Haitian vetiver oil, alternative origins have become increasingly important in perfumery. Chromaworks introduces this molecularly distilled Java vetiver as a practical alternative, selected for its relatively smooth character and versatility in fragrance compositions. It blends beautifully with patchouli, sandalwood, citrus, green, and herbal notes, adding depth, warmth, and natural tenacity to perfumes.
