Characteristics of CW Nutmeg Natural Essential Oil
Nutmeg is a type of spice known as Myristica fragrans. Due to its strong aromatic components, it was used in ancient Egypt for preservation purposes, sometimes placed inside mummies of the deceased. Discovered by the Portuguese in the Moluccas in 1512, nutmeg was monopolized and later spread to the Netherlands, France, and England. It is also added as a flavoring agent in beverages like cola, imparting a rich and sweet aroma. Particularly, during the holiday season, it is used as a spice in eggnog, a drink made by mixing eggs and milk with beer or wine. It has a relaxing effect on accumulated fatigue during the year-end and helps soothe both body and mind.
