The bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium) is a very valuable tree.
Cold pressing the peel of the bitter orange fruit produces bitter orange oil, steam distillation of the flowers produces neroli oil, solvent extraction of the flowers produces orange blossom absolute, steam distillation of the leaves produces petitgrain oil, and solvent extraction of the leaves produces orange blossom leaf absolute.
Neroli oil has historically been a very expensive natural ingredient used in high-end perfumes and colognes.
Even in small quantities, it has a rich diffusion and intense fragrance.
