Cinnamon Leaf
Spicy, Woody, Clove, Fatty
Cinnamon leaf oil is distilled from the leaves of the cinnamon tree, with a scent similar to clove bud.
For a fully intense cinnamon scent, cinnamon bark is recommended.
Known to repel mites, insects, and mosquitoes, it is great for making sprays.
Cinnamon leaf oil's main component, cinnamic aldehyde, is relatively prone to oxidation,
so refrigerating will extend its shelf life.
Characteristics of CW Cinnamon Leaf Natural Essential Oil
Cinnamon leaf oil is derived from the partially dried leaves and twigs of Cinnamomum zeylanicum through steam distillation. Sri Lanka is the largest producer, yielding about 200 tons annually. The oil, in a reddish-brown to dark brown liquid form, has a spicy scent reminiscent of clove bud. It contains a high amount of eugenol (approximately 70-83%) and is commonly used in spicy oriental perfumes and as a flavoring in candies.
