Characteristics of CW Caraway Natural Essential Oil
Caraway (Carum Carvi) originates from Europe and Western Asia and is widespread in temperate regions worldwide. It has a thick root and a stem that can reach up to 50cm in height. Caraway seeds have a distinctive aroma and are used as a spice in pastries, vegetables, soups, salads, and cheeses. In ancient Egypt, it was used as a flavoring herb, and during the Roman Empire's expansion, Roman soldiers carried Caraway as part of their rations. Caraway seeds were also used as a digestive aid, commonly chewed after meals during the Roman era.
Caraway oil contains 3-5% refined oil, and the extracted essential oil is used for flavoring alcoholic beverages, making aromatic stimulants, and carminative medicines. It is a liquid with a pale yellow to yellow color, featuring the characteristic smell of Caraway and a slightly spicy taste.
